tell me what it takes

The Fate of the Animals
The Fate of the Animals

the pretty pictures with your friends smiling

gleaming white teeth shining

and how everybody loves you

only in your convertible cadillac,

when did the light burn brighter for you?

why can't everybody love me the same way too?

are these hands made for loving too rough?

or can you only care for me when i cry

when i bleed to death to my demise

would you only love me when nobody else would

as i cling to your care like a dying pig,

for those pretty cries in your pretty cameras

for your bitch friends and their bitch laughs

i'll never be as pretty as you

i'll never matter to you,

with your tight crop tops

and high waisted jeans

shatter my mirror mirror on the wall

i'll never be as pretty as you,

10 more digicam pictures

with diamonds to bling

hold my bruised knuckles

and these pathetics attempts in ink,

tell me what it takes

because it won't be in these lines

as i etch my worries

they’ll fade as swiftly

you'll never make me matter,

so i’ll confide in my writes and wrongs

forever forsaken to sing these songs

but you don't care

you'll never make me matter,

sing me your lullaby

rest my head to sleep

kiss me with love

you'll never make me matter,

say my name in vain

and shoot me in the head

i can’t let you matter

i’ll never let you matter.
